Who is Scandia Plastics?

Scandia Plastics is a custom plastic extruder of rigid tubing and profiles. We have been satisfying customers for over 30 years in a wide range of extruded applications.

Does Scandia extrude flexible tubing?

No. Scandia only extrudes rigid, hollow plastic tubes and profile shapes.

What types of materials does Scandia extrude?

Scandia extrudes from a wide variety of thermoplastic materials. Some of the common materials extruded at Scandia are: ABS, Aaroprene, Butyrate, Noryl, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, Polysulfone, Propionate, Rigid Vinyl (PVC), Radel and Ultem.

What size range can Scandia extrude?

Scandia Plastics can extrude plastic tubes and profiles ranging in size from approximately 1/8-inch O.D. to a maximimum 8-inch O.D. with wall thickness from .010 inch ± .003 to heavy wall. Check out our Process Capabilities section for more information.

Does Scandia have a minimum order quantity?

Yes, our minimum order requirement is $1,500.

Does Scandia Plastics offer core tubes?

We offer a wide selection of core tubes ranging in size from 1" O.D. to 8" O.D. with wall thickness as needed. Core tubes are normally extruded from Polystyrene or Polyethylene and cut to your specified lengths from 6" to 6 feet or more. A strip of starter tape may also be applied to the length of your core tube if desired.

Does Scandia Plastics fabricate the tooling for its custom extrusions?

Scandia has a full service machine shop on site capable of making all tooling necessary for your custom extrusion. In addition Scandia Plastics with its experience and high tech design programs can assist you in fine- tuning your extrusion project.

Does Scandia Plastics offer secondary machining on extruded tubes and profiles?

Having a complete machine shop in-house allows Scandia to offer secondary machining, if necessary, on your custom extrusion. Some of these services offered include, but are not limited to: punching, drilling, crimping, machining and anti-static coating dip.

What are the typical lead times?

Having 13 extrusion lines and a full-service machine shop allows Scandia Plastics to keep lead times to a minimum. Normally 2 - 5 weeks can be achieved after receipt of your order.
